50's Primetime Cafe or Sci- Fi Dine-In Theater
If you could only pick 1, what would it be? It is for my husband, myself, an almost 4 year old (who gets bored easily) and a 3 month old.

Re: 50's Primetime Cafe or Sci- Fi Dine-In Theater
Haven't been to the 50's Primetime Cafe but we did eat in the Sci-Fi diner. The food was just ok and although it looked cute, we didn't like that you weren't sitting at true tables (a few cars had tables where you were facing one another) but we were in a car where I sat behind my son and husband and looked at the back of their heads through the whole meal!

Re: 50's Primetime Cafe or Sci- Fi Dine-In Theater
I think it depends on what you like. I don't like to be harassed at meals. Friends of ours find 50s fun but you have to enjoy that sort of thing. Friends say they get anything from mild jokes like take your elbows off the table and eat your veggies to stand facing the wall (depends on the server and how "into" it people get. See from people we know food at both is eh.
We have eaten several times at sci fi and loves it. Food is about johny rockets/fridays quality...not great but the hamburgers and shakes are fine. The shakes were pretty good actually. The draw there is not the food but the experience. My girls LOVE eating there because it is fun to eat in cars. It is not a typical restaurant so you can't really plan to go for conversation. It is dark and you eat in cars with 3 rows of 2 seats. They play some cartoons (tom and jerry) 1950s/1960s non scary horror film previews and cartoon ads like a hot dog doing tricks. Google search should find hou some pictures if not try allearsnet.com. The room is dark with stars so it is very much like dining under the stars.

never been to 50s. But Sci Fi, food was okay, basically burgers and such. But DS (who was 3 when we went and is now nearly 6) and my niece who was 4.5yo at the time, still talk about how cool it was to sit in the car and eat dinner! And the milk shakes were really yummy (i was preggo at the time you can tell where my mind was! lol)

50s since primetime you cannot face each other and it's dark in there. But I love both! Plus I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fried chicken platter at 50s.

My kids loved Sci-Fi and have been there twice. They also were older when they both went.

Went once with STBX and it was ok, being poked fun becasue I didn't eat all my veggies but I know my DD would not like it. She loved Sci-Fi and teh glow in teh dark cups and eating in cars.
