Please recommend your lenient church for baptism
We now live out of state but would like to baptize our little one in NY with our families and friends. We were active in a Roman Catholic Church prior to moving out of the state. Can anyone recommend their church who 1) Didn't force them to attend classes or meetings beforehand? 2) Were not strict about one or both godparents having received sacraments in a Catholic church, we do have some people we can ask who are Catholic but the person who really should be DD's godmother is Christian and was baptized but not in the Catholic Church. Any recommendations or personal experiences are helpful!

st John's in Bohemia. We did have to attend a one time class but maybe you can explain your situation to them.

I agree. My parents had my brother baptized here 29 years ago. I would check St. Mary's in East Islip as well, the woman that oversees the baptisms is very nice!

St Frances de Chantal in Wantagh. We dont go to church regularly and my DD god mother is Luteran so she is recognized but not titled God Mother. Only one of the God Parents need to have all the sacraments. We did have to attend a 2 hr baptismal class with others but it was just informational no big deal

This is the same as St Rapheal in East Meadow.
One Godparent can be a "witness" if they are Christian, as long as the other Godparent is Catholic.

That is what I read but our two home parishes that we grew up in both say both god parents need to be which is why I'm looking for somewhere more lenient.
Thanks!
