Q. for daycare and sitters
I can google this but I figured getting first hand answers would be better.
What questions should I be asking when calling sitters and daycare facilities.
TIA

Re: Q. for daycare and sitters
Daycare - first off I would make an apt to go and bring a list with all the questions there. First question before asking for an apt would be "do you have available space for a (infant, toddler, etc)" How many teacher/child ratio is there a schedule for the classroom what are your sick rules (when do they call you, when you should keep your child at home) giving medicine ask about teachers taking CPR classes When at the school look around... are outlets covered do they wear gloves at changing tables do they put down sheets at the changing table between each change What do you need to bring in for your LO labeling everything do they serve food or you send in? What is there policy if you send in? Allergies? can you send in cereal for the week, etc? cleaning toys make sure corners are covered and classroom is clean make sure teachers are keeping an eye on the children if they are talking to you or an assistant is there are there cameras in the room? what is the policy on picking up and dropping off do they have a lock and buzz pple in? what is their nap policy? how much? is there a late pick up in case? what are their hours? Do they provide daily sheets for babies - changing, eating information, etc.
Nanny or sitter - never used, but I would like a list of credentials, make sure they know CPR, etc. Do they clean or cook? Is there anything you need to provide for them? You need to tell them notice when they are calling out sick or an emergency? Let them know if they can or can't drive? That is of course if they have a valid DL. Ask about their past experience.
