Moms who use sitters from DC's daycare
We have no family near us, and no reliable sitter to use. One of dd's daycare teachers said she babysits on the side, so I am entertaining the idea of using her on occasion when we need a night out.
DD is very comfortable with her during the day and both seem to really like each other. She is very loving to DD and is very nice all the times I've met with her at daycare.
To others who use a daycare teacher to babysit... You felt comfortable right? Your child is in their care all day, so you'd trust them to watch them in your home I'd assume. It's not like it's a stranger we don't know. Guess I'm looking for some reassurance for those that have done this.
Also, how much did you offer her per hour?

Moms who use sitters from DC's daycare
OUr non-family sitter is one of the boys daycare teachers. I love her, the kids love her so it worked out great. We have a lot of family nearby so we don't use her that often but, had no concerns.
A friend of mine uses sitters from daycare all the time since she has no family in the area and has nothing but good things to say (since she needs them more often - she has used a number of different people).
For one kid - I did $10 an hour, for 2, I did $15 (she told me when I asked what she got whatever I was comfortable with) but, I know one of the more popular teachers/babysitters at our school charges more than that.

All my sitters are DS former teachers at daycare. He loves them all. Asks for them to come "visit" all the time!

I pretty much only use sitters from DC when I can't get family to watch. THey have been great.
I love that my kids know them, I know them, they have had background checks, are certified. In my opinion, it's been awesome.

Our non-family sitters came from day care centers, too. It was my preference because I knew they were fingerprinted, background checked, certified in CPR, etc.
I did have a mother's helper who was very young (15-16) but her mom was a friend of mine so that made me feel better about it.

I would 100% use one of the teachers from day care. Actually, I keep meaning to get one of their numbers cause I know she does babysit on the side and is interested.
