supplies?
i have a patient (low income) in need of baby items. Anyone work for or know of programs that provide cribs and things like that for low income famlilies.
Funny when I start coming directly to LIF for this stuff! But you ladies know soooooo much!!
TIA

Re: supplies?
i just saw that NYS was giving away a free "porta crib" to any family in need here is the link to the article it says they're giving them out in various places, including their local LDSS, so their local public assistance office.

Check local churches. I know some have a Layette donation center for that purpose.

I have a bassinet I wouldn't mind giving to her.. Not sure what the most appropriate way would be to get it to her

Re: supplies?
You can try giving the family the name of shops that sell second hand baby items like Once Upon a Child in Seaford and Sayville. They might donate items if asked. When I lost most of my baby items to Sandy flooding I posted on a buy/sell group on Facebook that I was looking to purchase a crib and I explained my circumstances. Someone gave me a crib for free which really made my day after everything we lost. Its called the LI Nassau/Suffolk Buy & Sell Group.
