Flying with 3 yr. old, question

WE are flying to Fla. and was wondering what (if any) ID do we need for my 3 yr. old granddaughter? Thanks.

DS has been flying since 3 months old. I always bring his birth certificate but they have never once asked for it. I just got him a passport so I will be bringing that instead of the birth certificate from now on. I always hated carrying the BC, always afraid I'd lose it

Once they are over 2, they don't need any form of ID until they are 18. I usually bring a copy of their birth certificates anyway.

If they are under 2, and flying as a lap child, you need a copy of their birth certificate. In all the times I've flown, I've only been asked once but, my friend was given a very hard time and was told that TSA is cracking down and will be asking more frequently (ETA they want ID to make sure you aren't scamming them out of $$ for a seat).
