The organization FARE will be having a Food Allergy Awareness walk (2 miles) on Sunday Oct. 13 @ Eisenhower Park. Registration is at noon, the walk starts at 1. There will be some fun things for the kids as well as some nice raffle prizes. If you have family or friends with food allergies, or if you just want to come and support the group, all donations go directly to FARE for research, etc. to help get this growing epidemic under control, find out why it's happening to so many of our young children and find a cure!! My granddaughter was a little over 2 (last Jan) when she was diagnosed with severe allergies to tree nuts(walnuts, cashews, pecans, and pistachios) we avoid all tree nuts, but she's ok with peanuts/peanut butter. there is a webpage www.foodallergywalk.org/longisland that gives information about that day.
