FYI: Food Allergy Support Group

I found out about this support group for parents of food allergic kids. It should be very helpful for us parents of food allergic kids.

Protect Allergic Kids (PAK) Support Group

Food Allergy Topics include:

- share your child's story, "get to know each other"
- cooking tips & recipes
- how to keep your child safe during the holidays
- coping with people in your child's life who just don't get it

Date: Wednesday, November 15th

Time: 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Place: Sachem Pubic Library (behind Adult Reference desk, Area D)

Directions:

Getting to the Library from the L.I.E. west of exit 61.
Take Exit 61 off the Expressway and take a left (to go north) on Holbrook Road at the second traffic light on the Service Road. The Library is approximately 1/2 mile north of the L.I.E. on the left side of Holbrook Road across from the Nokomis Elementary School.

Getting to the Library from the L.I.E. east of exit 62.
Take Exit 62 off the Expressway and stay on the service road until the first traffic light after you pass the Symbol Technologies building. Take a right on Holbrook Road (to go north) at the traffic light. The Library is approximately 1/2 mile north of the L.I.E. on the left side of Holbrook Road across from the Nokomis Elementary School.

Oh man!!! I would be there in a second if I didn't live 3 hours away

I'd especially like to talk about the family members who just don't "get it". I found a chunk of cake on my DD's face cause my dear Bro inlaw thought "awe...what's the big deal..it was a small piece"

I found it through one of the online food allergy sites that lists support groups by state. I haven't been to one of the meetings yet but I hope to attend this month's meeting.
