Hospital PJ's after C Section
What did you wear in the hospital after your C-section.
Were nightgowns more comfortable than pants and a top?
Where did you find nice, comfortable and nursing friendly items?
I am most likely staying for 4 nights so how many pairs of PJ's do you think I need to bring?

Hospital PJ's after C Section
I bought PJs with pants. Make sure you wear dark pants if you go with pants. At night I would sleep with just the mesh underwear and the top to the PJs the first couple of nights. It really wasn't that bad with the pain. The problem I had was that my incision was leaking and I would go through about 3-4 pairs of pants every day until we finally realized it was the incision and not other fluids.
EDIT: I didn't go with the gowns only because when people came to visit I didn't want them to be able to see up my gown if I moved the wrong way. Your incision is low enough that your pants band won't hit it. Yoga pants are GREAT too because the band is lose.

Re: Hospital PJ's after C Section
The first night I was still in the hospital gown. The second day I changed into a pair of nursing PJs, that were dark blue, super soft comfy stretchy fabric (I think I got them from Motherhood Maternity), they were pants and a nursing tank. I also had a pair of dark blue light pajama pants from Target. I also brought my maternity yoga pants but can't remember if I wore them or not. The key with pants is to make sure the waist will sit above the incision. I wore nursing tanks the entire time. I brought a robe due to advice from this board and it was the best thing I could have done. I loved in it the entire time over pjs. It was a short (came to my knees) terry robe that I never wore until then, and haven't worn since, but I'll be sure to bring it this time around too. Made it super easy and comfy to nurse.
Also bring large ugly granny panties that you can throw away after wearing the first few nights.
Good luck!

Def go with 2 piece PJs, with a loose elastic waist. You'll feel more dignity with everybody that comes in to check your incision if you don't have to pull up a full nightgown, and be completely exposed (at least that's how I felt). I'd probably bring 4 pairs, just in case. But you may not need that many...if you don't bleed through all of them, you won't necessarily need them all.

Re: Hospital PJ's after C Section
I bought 2 pairs of nursing PJs online. One was a nightgown and the other was 2 piece. I wore the hospital gown the first day and then after I showered I wore the nightgown and a robe. The first day or 2 it's really hard to move so having 1 less thing to pull down in the bathroom is worth it, IMO.

I did the same thing.

Re: Hospital PJ's after C Section
I found pants, even loose ones, to be horribly uncomfortable. This time I'm bringing 2 nightgowns. I will probably stay in the hospital gown the first day. I didn't bleed through any items last time around.

I wore black yoga pants or loose fitting pj bottoms. I felt so much better in pants. I would have not wanted to wear a nightgown.

Re: Hospital PJ's after C Section
I brought a selection of things because I wasn't sure what I would want to wear. My Csection was on a Wednesday and I was not able to shower till Friday. I technically was allowed on Thursday but I was in so much pain that I just didn't care enough to. I stayed in a hospital gown till then.
On Friday, I changed into a button-down nightgown which was actually great for nursing since all I had to do was unbutton it at the top. On Saturday, I showered again and got into pants and a really large shirt. However-- I found the pants uncomfortable and the shirt was hard to lift every time I wanted to breastfeed, so I actually changed back into that button down gown I wore the previous day.
On Sunday, I showered and changed into my clothes to go home in.
Sooo basically, I used "lounge" clothes on 2 days but because I technically could have gotten changed a day sooner and also there's always the possibility of getting blood on something, the next time I'd bring 3 button down nightgowns.
Good luck!

Thanks for all the replies. I think I will bring a variety of items and see what I am most comfortable in.

I found nightgowns to be the most comfortable. I wore the hospital gowns for the first 3 days and then finally my own nightgown. I had no desire to wear pants...even if they were super loose.
