Too many blueberries?

Do you think eating too many blueberries could turn your child's bm very dark...almost black??? My dc had very very dark bm 2 days in a row, almost black. She did eat A LOT of blueberries recently. Do you think this could be the reason for the drastic color change? Yesterday and today its not dark. Sorry for the TMI. DC is 14m

Definitely. My son could eat blueberries by the pint and his dirty diapers have been almost black after eating them.

Yep! My DD loves blue berries and I notice this in her diaper after she eats a bunch.

To the OP... Haven't noticed it in his poop but with the color his fingers and mouth take on post-blueberries, I wouldn't doubt it.

Re: Too many blueberries?

Yup. My DD's favorite food is blueberries, and her poop is often very dark because of it. It also happens when she eats black beans.

This happens periodically to my DD too. I have seen whole blueberries, beans, carrot cubes, etc. The gastro and her ped said that this is normal.
