Disposing of unused meds
So I have about 10 prefilled syringes of Lovenox...the generic form...that I no longer need. I called my pharmacy to see if they would take them and they told me that I have to drop them off at my local police precinct. What have you done with leftover injectables??? I donated all my other IVF meds to LI IVF or others who I knew personally who needed some. It seems weird to me to go to my local precinct to drop these off...I thought for sure my local pharmacy would take them.

When do the injectables expire? I'd offer them up here, otherwise, check with your town office for the dates of their STOP program. This is the link for the Town of Oyster Bay STOP program: Town of Oyster Bay STOP Program

Re: Disposing of unused meds
My town has a date once a month where you can drop off sharps. Otherwise, you can drop sharps at any hospital...I just dropped the other day at NS - they have a public container near the ER.

You're right maybe someone can but because it's so few doses and some drama that took place last year I didn't think to offer. I know last year there was some issues with illegitimate posters asking for donated meds and then in turn selling them off on other websites. After that, it seemed many people were hesitant to offer up meds anymore which is why I donated what I had available at the time to my RE's office or to friends in need. I'll offer it up though and see what happens.
