Unused Meds
Hello all! I work at a fertility clinic and often times we have patients calling us looking to donate their unused/unexpired meds. At my office we no longer accept these donations . However, I have been giving them this sites info in hopes that they will offer to those of you in need. Hopefully they take my advice and reach out, but who knows.. So if you see a new user offering meds, it may be one of my patients and is legit. I know it's sketchy when you see someone with only a few posts so I figured that I'd give you ladies a heads up!
Happy Holidays and lots of luck to all!

Thanks so much for thinking of us!!
How did I not know that you work at a fertility clinic??
Just our of curiosity, why don't they take the meds back as a donation?

I've told a few girls on here, but I don't like to announce it because I don't want people to get the wrong impression, like that I'm a "know it all" or something. KWIM?
I work for a big university hospital and we have private patients as well as clinic patients. We used to accept donations to give to our clinic patients, but the hospital put a stop to it for fear of potential law suits. Their thoughts are, if we give these meds out which were given to us by a patient how do we know that they weren't tampered with. What if the receiving patient has a reaction or meds were not effective, or whatever the case.. The receiving patient can blame us for dispensing these meds, which didn't come straight from a pharmacy. It's an unfortunate reality, but healthcare is now driven by fear of law suits.

I am actually suprised that offices still accept donations. But thanks for thinking of us

it's sad but I guess that does make total sense. I know it's a terrible comparison but when I used to work for bath and body works, we used to have to throw out everything that was returned. It killed me to toss a brand new bottle of lotion. At 18, that was pretty damn expensive!! But we had to because of people potentially tampering with it.

Re: Unused Meds
I live out of state, so I was wondering where I could donate my extra meds locally. Is it legal to give to someone?? I don't know anyone firsthand going through this near me that I can just give them to. Thanks!!!

Im pretty sure it's illegal to give away your meds and even more illegal to sell them
That said, people do it. I would only feel comfortable giving my meds away to someone I knew, here especially, or donating the to a doctor's office (if they're still willing to accept them).
