be careful what you wish for...
so yesterday i said i wish i could just puke and feel better. the universe only heard the first half because shortly after that post I became VIOLENTLY ill. I had been viciously throwing up with all my might for hours when DH finally said he was taking me to the ER. They had to give me zofran and 2 i.v's of saline bc I couldn't keep anything down. Then DH got hit with it too. We thought it was food poisoning but now it turns out other people in the family are being struck with it as well.
the scariest part was the dr. came in and told me my urine test was negative. my heart sank. how can this be? he then ordered a beta and my beta is "adequate for how far along I am" so I guess there was an error with the urine test. I just can't wait for my first appt. friday.

How far along are you? Google the hook effect. With my first pregnancy I tested until like 9 weeks and the tests started getting lighter. I freaked out and did some internet research and discovered the hook effect. After your HCG reaches a certain level they bind to eachother and dont register on urine pregnancy tests causing tests to lighten and in some cases even come up negative. There are studies where women were pregnant and tested negative on pee tests but sonogram showed a baby. I imagine that is what happened to you! I stopped testing after that point
Glad you are ok!

Re: be careful what you wish for...
i am almost 7 weeks. I was just so upset. he wouldn't allow me a ultrasound...I understood he felt it was too early but he said "we wouldn't see anything" ummmm almost 7 weeks there should be a hb! but whatever i'm not the dr...but i even asked "well, did you take another test or just that one?" "just that one" well HELLO! if i'm telling you my last mp was july 26th and i am pregnant...wouldn't you wonder if the test was faulty? that would be my first thought.

Re: be careful what you wish for...
nope...nothing. didn't even have a paper in his hand when he came in. I am so disappointed with the care I received. Friday cannot come soon enough so I can get some real answers.

Ugh! Maybe a stomach bug? I was hit with one at around 9 or 10 weeks. Threw up a lot and could barely keep water down let alone anything else. I didn't go to the ER or anything b/c I thought it was either MS or an adverse reaction to a new medication I had started the night before. Eventually it stopped. Feel better!
