Not sure if it is a nice hotel but Omni was popular for visitors. I have never stayed there but DH lived in New Haven for many years when we were dating.

I've never stayed there but the Study at Yale looks really nice and the restaurant there called Heirloom is supposed to be good.

We stayed at the Study at Yale for a wedding in Aug. It is a great boutique style hotel - rooms were modern and nicely designed. The staff was also very friendly. It's right near campus.

Also, I don't know if it's still there, but there was a restaurant close to the Omni called Hot Tomatoes...it was fantastic!
