BTDTM: Dilation Question
When did you start to dilate? I heard that dilation can mean nothing in relation to labor, but I was just wondering what your progression was like leading up to labor.

NEVER ever EVER EVER with any of mine until the day I went into labor. All of mine I had no progress, or barely any progress a day or two before I went into labor.

DS #1 - not until labor at 9 days late
DS #2 - 38 weeks - had to be induced 5 days early

With my dd I was dilated 1cm at 36 weeks. Never went into labor on my own and was induced at 41 weeks.

I had to be induced on the evening of my 8th day late (41w1d). I had nothing the whole time but when I went in for induction they said I was 1 cm and having mild contractions (I couldn't feel them).

At my 38 week appt I was not dilated at all
At my 39 week he said- just about a fingertip- not much at all
That was a Thursday.
Monday I started having irregular contractions.
Tuesday morning I went to the hospital with more regular contractions- got there around 8 am and I was 4-5 cm dilated already and ready to rock and roll!

At my 36 week visit, I was 1 cm dilated & 50% effaced. My water broke 6 days later. When I arrived at the hospital 3 hrs later, I was 3 cm dilated. Baby was born 5 hours later.

at 37 weeks through my last appointment at 40w6d i was .5 cm dilated for that entire time (and 0% effaced).
At 41w1d (2 days after my last check) i went into labor and when i got the hospital was 5cm - dd was born 5 hours later.

Was 3cm at my first internal at 37w. I freaked out that id be in labor that night but i made 0 progress until i was induced at 39w2d

BTDTM: Dilation Question
I only had 2 internals, on my due date and 1.5 weeks later. Both times I was a fingertip. I went into labor 13 days late and was 5cm when I got to the hospital.

Dang, figured as much. I was 1cm dilated and 80% effaced at my 38 week yesterday, but I guess that doesn't mean anything!

I was never dilated, but then went into labor 10 days early. By the time I started to feel contractions and got to my drs office, I was already 4 cm.
