Pumping and Storage
Can you add pumped breast milk to already stored and refrigerated bottled breast milk? I pumped less than 2 oz last night and I want to add to it from my pumping session this morning so I have a fuller bottle to give DD.

Yes, but make sure they are both cold when you mix it. You don't want to add the just pumped (warm) milk into the container with the cold one.

I've read that you're not supposed to add warm milk to cold milk so I usually put the 2nd pumped bottle into the fridge, then combine them when they're both the same temp.

You aren't supposed to mix milk at different temperatures, so I wouldn't.

as long as their not mixed at different temperatures it should be ok. put the fresh milk in the fridge and once it's cold mix it with the 2oz from last night

I think it's only from just pumped warm to refrigerated. If its just pumped to room temp I think it should be okay. Just the really warm to really cold isn't good

I think it can cause bacteria to grow.
