would you be upset?
so my DH just called to tell me he got notified for some overtime on Saturday...it's supposed to be my surprise shower on Saturday and he knows about it, but he doesn't know that I know.
it's not a jack and jill shower or anything, but now that I think about it I'm a little upset that he won't get to be there after to take pictures or anything.
Not that I can really do anything about it but did anyone else have a shower where DH didn't attend? Did it upset you?
ETA: now I'm thinking...and I'm wondering if he told me that just to get out of the house to help out? I really really hope he's lying to me now and maybe mom needs his help early in the day.

I was going to say since the shower is a surprise maybe he isn't working and that is a ploy to fool you even more. I can't imagine he would accept ot on the day of your shower.

yea...thing is he doesn't accept OT, he's assigned it and he can't get out of it (cop)...but yes I'm hoping he's lying now!

mine was a coed party but if it wasnt no it wouldnt bother me at all. mostof the time i only see guys at the shower aftwerward just to put stuff away in the cars.

With my surprise shower DH did everything possible for me not to find out...he said he was working, told me he was upgrading my IPHONE at the store (but really hid it) and his sister even sent me an invite for my nieces sweet 16!! Well they pulled it off because I was very surprised!! He was there to take pictures too! Don't worry if he's anything like my DH I'm sure he's planning a great surprise

I'm not sure if he's just saying that because of the shower or if he legitimately has to work, but I wouldn't be upset. I would want to make as much $$ as possible before the baby comes.

I'm a cop too so I understand... none of the other guys would take the OT from him? ughhh I hate this stupid job sometimes.,.there are so many things we miss out on, especially as a rookie.

Dh wasn't able to take off for my bridal shower and he won't be taking off for my baby shower since it's on a Saturday and he is a chef. He did say he will take off the next day so we can go through everything. Sucks but its part of his job. Your hubby can just be throwing you off though.

I totally understand your frustration, but since its not a Jack&Jill shower, I personally wouldn't mind him taking the OT, assuming he made arrangements for you to get there and back & ppl to help you. Then you can go over everything with him when he's home. We tend to make OT a priority in my house because the money is so good (unless it was something like a wedding or DDs birthday, then if course DH would be here.)

I would probably be upset for a minute but then get over it. It's not that big a deal in the grand scheme of things, and maybe he will get out early. My DH had to work the day of my surprise bridal shower and I was brought by his 2 best friends and he met us later. No biggie!!!!

Def still could be part of the plan, i know i would be a little upset as well but if he is assigned it and cant just say no, then i wouldn't be upset with him.
