do you do any "school "work at home to help your child read/write? is this in addition to pre-school learning?
i decided to take more initiativeand bring home preschool/pre k worksheets for my dd (she is 4.5) to do every night.
i get home at 7:15pm so i never really did any sort of school work with my dd especially since she goes to daycare/pre-school. To boost her confidence and show her that when you study and practice, learning will come easier to you, i decided to squeeze in some "homework" into my already tight schedule.
anyhow, is it better to concentrate on one or two letters from the alphabet every night or concentrate on that one letter for the whole week?
is 3 or 4 worksheets too much? do you do any additional school work to help your read/write? tia!

You know this is funny-my ds has been asking to do homework (also aged 4.5) So i started bringing home some work sheets and we do 2 letters or 2 numbers a night to print.
I am going to start addition and subtraction shortly since he does so well with it.
I have seen in Target workbooks for kindergarten kids to focus on reading.. I am going to get more of those also.
Embrace it as much as your child likes.

Yes-I print stuff online. I went through the whole alphabet and talked about a letter of the day(I would leave it for my Nanny too)
I also have gotten books at Barnes and Noble and even the $ store. I usually buy K or late preschool level(mine are 4.5 as well)
