Re: London and Rome
In London we used the London pass and it was worthy. My sister recommended a hop on bus to have a general idea of the city and later visit the places we were interested in, but we didn't since we knew where we wanted to go. However, if you have time to do both (the bus one day and later to use the London pass) it would be nice.
In Rome we use tour guides for the Vatican and the coliseum. We bought the one for the Vatican from here, but once you get there, there are lots of people offering the guides. That's what we did for the coliseum. I suggest doing this, since the lines get very long.
Enjoy it! Both are wonderful cities!

Yes... Go for a tour guide in Rome. People will start yelling from the sides if anyone speaks English. They collect the English speaking tourists waiting on line and for the price to get in the collisium plus a little extra for the tour it was worth it all. Skip 95 percent of the line and get an interesting tour.
