Security blanket in crib
DD is 8 months old, and we recently started using an Aden + Anais security blanket. She loves it, and falls asleep right away with it. I purchased it because of its breathability. However, the edges are satin (about an inch or so deep on all 4 sides). DD loves to have the blanket scrunched up to her face.
I remove the blankie overnight, but let her keep it in the crib for naps b/c she tends to wake and put herself back to sleep often during her naps. I'm hyper nervous that the satin with smother her. Am I being crazy? Should I cut off the satin, or should I take a chill pill?

Re: Security blanket in crib
I think the satin edge is fine, but my 9-month-old DD also loves to scrunch a blanket and pull it up to her face when she's falling askeep, so we put her in a sleep sack. It's big enough the she can pull it up like a blanket but it can't completely cover her face.

I think it's fine. I'd leave it alone. The small satin border won't suffocate your daughter and if you cut it off, the blanket might start fraying.

I think she is fine. At 8 months she can push that light blanket off her face. I understand why you get nervvous...but I think she will be ok
