DC having a fever after shots
DS went to the dr yesterday for his 6 month checkup. He received 2 immunization shots. (I can't remember what for since the names are so effing long...) Anyway, he developed a fever last night (about 4 hours after the shots). It was 101 last night around 730, 102.4 around 1030 and back down to 101 this morning. He's been acting fine - a little more sleepy than usual and with less appetite, but still happy and playful. Tonight he's back to a 102.5. I gave him Tylenol and he's still acting fine!
If DC has gotten a fever after an immunization, how long did it last? How long should I expect this to last? Should I call the dr at all?
TIA!

Re: DC having a fever after shots
My daughter just got her 6 month shots and while she didn't develop a fever he said I could expect it for about 2 days or so.

Re: DC having a fever after shots
dd had gotten a fever after her 4 month shots... they did a few at that visit. so from then on, I've had them split the shots up and I've just gone for extra visits and she's been fine. but when she did get the fever, it lasted a couple of days and she was not herself for over a week. I wouldn't worry. a 101-102 fever can be pretty "normal" for a baby after shots.

Re: DC having a fever after shots
DS had a fever after his 4 month shots. It lasted about 3 days, I think. It's very common and usually doesn't bother the baby.
