Switching to milk

DS will be 1 on 8/28. I have his 1 year appt with the ped on sept 18th. Should I wait until his appt to start the transition to milk or can I start him now? He has no dairy allergies and has had cheese, yogurt, etc.

my ped told me to start the switch to whole milk now (DS is 10 months old) so i'm assuming it'd be fine for your DS too. I was told to put 7oz formula with 1oz milk for one week, then keep upping the milk ounces until it's all milk (which will be when DS is about a year old). I'm not comfortable with doing it yet though so i'm waiting till next month.

If you're not sure if it's ok, you should call and speak with your ped.

DD will be one on 9/17, and I just got milk to start transitioning.

i started a slow transition a little before dd turned one. as long as your dc seems to adjust well to it, hovering around the one year mark give or take, is fine

Thank you. I think I will start him. He seems to be dropping his mid day bottle anyway. He only drinks 16 or so oz a day of formula.

DS will be 1 in 2 weeks and we just switched to milk. I didn't wait for his checkup.

I started transitioning at about 11 months. No issues.
