SAHM 2 under 2
DS is 14 months and im due w/ DD in November so theyll be 17 months apart. Everyone we talk to says ill need a nanny or some sort of help. Even now, its very rare to get time to myself. I dont really get any family help and DH works 6 days a week. Is it really that impossible to care for 2 under 2 without much help??

I think you'll be ok. Some days will be tougher than others, but you'll get into the swing of things. The infant stage will be easier when the baby sleeps a lot so you can give your toddler more attention. You can still take them both to library classes and other stuff to get out. What helped me was gates for rooms I didn't want my older DS going into when I was feeing the baby.

Re: SAHM 2 under 2
I'm a FTWM of 2 under 2 (well... they are now 1.5 and 3).
I was on maternity leave for 4 months.
While it was hard in the beginning... it gets better fast. You get used to juggling the kids around. Neither gets 100 %... but both get a bit.
No, you stop taking care of yourself as much: showers are much harder, etc... but that part passes.
Everything may be nicer with help... but it's not necessary.
ETA: I totally agree about the gates!

I think it completely depends on your personality, I could do it and would feel guilty spending money on a nanny. My DS is 20 M now and does so much on his own so I really just have to keep an eye on him and get his food btu he doesn't need 24/7 watching.

I have a 1 year old and due in November. They will be 14 months apart. I get lots of crazy looks and many oh you will be very busy comments! I think I will be able to handle it though. I don't think I would feel comfortable with getting help from a nanny. I know it's going to be hard, but I think I can do it.....I hope so anyway!

I have two sets of friends who have two kids that are 15 mos apart. Both parents WFT and only have help from daycare or an occasional baby sitter when needed. They say it's difficult but, you get through it.

Re: SAHM 2 under 2
You will be fine. My boys were 14 months apart. Older ds wasn't walking yet. I had a nanny a few days a week only because I worked full time and didn't want to lose her.
You will develop a routine and figure it out. I would say if you have someone every so often just to give you a little break or adult conversation it will help you out.
My advice is try it out and if it does become overwhelming then get a mothers helper or something.

I have two 2.5 year olds and a 5 month old. It is totally doable on your own. Just make sure you get out of the house! The days are long when I am home all day. The only thing I would suggest is that you have an occasional babysitter for your doctor appts etc.
congrats!

Mine boys were 15 months apart and I stayed home for 6 months but it was just me and I was fine. Never needed a nanny or help. U can do it.

Re: SAHM 2 under 2
You will be fine. I'm a SAHM to 2 DDs 14m apart. (they are 3.5 and almost 2.5) Some days are harder than others but I find keeping busy and taking them out as much as possible always helped. my DH would work 7 days a week most weeks so I had little help. I did hire a babysitter for 1 day a week for 3hrs so I can run errands but that was when they were older and it's stopping soon cause they both will be in school. Somehow we all pull through :) it's hard though. My girls are NOT easy to deal with either

SAHM 2 under 2
My two are 16 months apart and it really hasn't been bad at all. Some days have their moments, but for the most part it has been so much fun I have had my dd involved in helping with the baby since ds came home. We have a pretty good routine now.

I think you'll fall into a routine. If you need someone, maybe a local young girl as a mothers helper just to keep your older one occupied for some 101 time with baby. She can also possibly do dishes and laundry.
