How much cash would you bring for a cruise?
It would be needed for tips for taxi's, porter's, casino, souvenirs on the islands.

How long is the cruise?
I usually do 7 day cruises and bring about $1k. I put $500 down on my room card for drinks and gifts and on-board costs and then keep $500 in cash for the islands.
But I don't have kids, just a DH who drinks like a fish.

We're going on a cruise in less than 2 weeks and we're probably bringing about $500 and hopefully won't use it all. I don't put cash on the room card though. I give a CC.

Same. We'll bring 800 for everything and come back with 500 or more left.
We don't spend much, since we also get the shore excursions early charged to the room. So basically for cash we just have enough for tipping (50 max, since we also put tips on the onboard account) and then casino and a few bucks for shopping.
We arent big shoppers though. I think the last 3 trips to the caribbean I've probably spent 50 dollars total on shopping, and that was because we bought 3 bottles of local rum.

7 day, 2 adults. We have over $600 in OBC and we have extra money we saved. Wasn't sure how much cash to carry around. Years ago we would bring travelers checks.

I think I take around $500 and end up bringing home most of it. I pay for everything via credit card though (tips, excursions, meals on land). The only cash I use is for taxis when we are get off on the islands.
