How did you prepare your older dc for the arrival of a younger sibling?
Ds will be 20 months when dd arrives and I'd like to try to prepare him for her arrival a bit. Would also like to make him feel a little special to be a big bro although he might not really get it at 20 months. Is there anything you did for your older dc? TIA!

Re: How did you prepare your older dc for the arrival of a younger sibling?
DS1 was 20 months old when DS2 was born. We didn't mention much about it until the very end of my pregnancy. I had him pick out a lovey to buy for the baby and when he came to the hospital he gave it to the baby and we had a big brother gift for him from the baby. We tried to not making a big deal about it actually. When we brought the baby home we just acted like business as usual. There was no - look at the baby, kiss your brother, do you want to feed him.. etc. We almost snuck him into our lives lol. It seemed to work just fine - DS1 sought out and discovered DS2 in his own way on his time. I think 20 months is really young to understand it al. Good luck and congrats!
