Synthroid?
When working with my RE, I was put on synthroid. He said it was because infertility treatment could cause some thyroid issues. Anyone else on thyroid medicine as a part of their infertility meds? If so when did they say you could stop taking it?
At my 37w appointment my dr said "I guess you can stop taking it" but I am a little hesitant with any response that starts with "I guess".

Re: Synthroid?
I would go to an endocrinologist and have a blood draw done. Synthroid is a thyroid replacement drug and it ends up making your thyroid stop producing hormones on its own. It is a for life drug. I am not sure how/if weening or cold turkey going off of the drug works or if it is possible. Based on this I would absolutely second guess your doctor.

Synthroid?
i would def go for bloodwork before stopping. as the pp mentioned its a for life drug (typically). if your bloodwork shows your levels are within normal range they will probably have you continue to take it. if you do opt to stop before going for bloodwork, i would make sure to get some follow up bloodwork in a month to make sure your levels are still within range.

Absolutely this! Both my sister and I are on synthroid - me mostly for IF issues and her for severe thyroid issues. We are both on for life unless blood/endo proves otherwise.

Re: Synthroid?
I developed a thyroid issue last spring and just started synthroid in September when we decided to start another round of IVF.
I've been getting my level checked monthly and not exactly sure what will happen post-delivery .... but definitely DO NOT stop it without following up with routine blood work to make sure your levels are in check. Especially after giving birth and having your hormones out of whack and your body trying to regulate itself, you want to be sure your thyroid is under control.
I would ask your OB to recommend a good endocrinologist to monitor you for at least the first 3 months or so post-partum to make sure your levels are where they should be and make a decision on if you could come off it.
