Re: Winthrop orientation/powerpt class
I didn't although I did sign up (and then canceled ). I got the confirmation in the mail after I signed up and saw that it was going to mostly be a powerpoint presentation for nearly 2hrs and did not include a tour.
I DID take the breastfeeding class through them though and was VERY glad I did! (just an FYI! ) I also took Infant CPR. My dh came to both and we both found the classes useful. In fact, we were thinking of taking an infant care class but I pretty much procrastinated on that and I'm sure it's too late now to get on that. We'll just be winging it!

Re: Winthrop orientation/powerpt class
I came here to ask about the lamaze class. I JUST want to schedule a tour, but I'm told that those are only scheduled when you sign up for the childbirth preparation class which is $175. I think that's kind of ridiculous. I'm not sure I want to do lamaze at this point especially because of the expense. And I certainly don't need a powerpoint lecture on the information that is already available on their web-site so I don't think the orientation is worth it - especially since no tour is included! Are you ladies going to do the childbirth prep class? We are already signed up for the infant care class. All I want is a tour... bleh!

Re: Winthrop orientation/powerpt class
Supposedly they cover natural birth, epidural, and c-section. I'm just really disappointed that I can't see the hospital without shelling out money for this class.

Thanks for the recommendations :) looking forward to hearing about your experience when you deliver this month. Yea I do not want to shell out $ for a childbirth class when majority of people I know didn't take one and did just fine or took it and didn't find it useful. This class at winthrop is free so I figured I had nothing to lose but wanted to see if anyone actually took it found it worth the time.

Re: Winthrop orientation/powerpt class
When I delivered there 2.5 yrs ago, I did the orientation (free) and the tour... did a class but not w/ them. Didn't need the class to have the tour, and I doubt u need it now. Call and ask.
