what is/was your 5mo's nap routine like??
DD gets tired and wants a nap approximately every 2 hours, but only naps for about 30 minutes. Is this typical? When do naps get longer and less frequent?

DD is 6 months and still naps like this. She will sleep anywhere from 30 mins to 2 hrs. But if we are out and about she is too busy to sleep.
I have no clue when they take fewer naps.

dd had the same routine - but 2 weeks ago my mom started to watch her instead of daycare and she already got her napping much better.
she naps after being awake for 2.5 hours in the morning - and she will nap for 45 minutes
then about 2.5 hours after waking up from that nap she goes down for about 1.5 hours to sometimes 2 hours if we are lucky. then that is it until bedtime. bedtime used to be around 7:30pm but she has been so tired shes been going down at 6:45pm.
dd was waking after 45 minutes during her second nap but my mom would let her cry for a few minutes then would go in and rub her back til she went back to sleep. it took almost a week of this (weekend included) until dd just started to naturally nap that long. its only been a short time but i hope it continues to stay that way!

DS generally is not an a schedule exactly, he does have a rough schedule, we we like! he adapts to what we are doing and where we are well when it comes to sleeping!
takes a nap around:
9am give or take an hour, it is usually around 45 minutes
12pm give or take an hour - usually the longer nap of the day... about 1 hour, sometimes longer
3/4pm - another cat nap - 30-45 minutes
or
5/6pm another cat nap 30-45 (not always)
sometimes he does both of the later naps, but many days its just one of them.

My DD is 5 1/2 mos and she's not a great napper. Maybe 30-45 minutes at a time. If we are lucky, she'll go for over an hour, but that's usually with us going in and putting the pacifier back in her mouth.
She wakes between 6-7 a.m.
Naps around 10-11, after breakfast.
Naps again around 2:00.
She will maybe nap on/after the car ride home, between 4:30-5:30.
My mother is missing the days when my son used to take two 2-hour naps a day, and then dropped to one 3-hour nap.

Pretty much the same. At around 7 months she would start to take one or two longer naps. Now most days she takes one long nap... about 2-3 hours.

My 5 month old takes cat naps. 15-20 minutes about an hour and a half after each feeding

DS is 6 months and does this too. He's up for 1-1.5 hrs and down for 1/2hr ish. I am also wondering when that will change!

My boys had similar schedules at that age too. They got on a solid 2 nap per day schedule between 6-7 months.

DS's naps change daily. Sometimes he gets 2 good 2ish hour naps. Sometime she only cat naps. He used to take 3-4 naps per day, but around 5 months he dropped to 3, and sometimes only 2 a day. It depends what time he gets up in the morning if we get that extra nap in or not.
