Diaper Rash or fungus - 2 yr old
My niece has had a diaper rash for a week now. It looks very dotty or almost like heat rash? She tried new diapers and not sure if that was the culprit. My sister has been airing her out and doing diaper cream but it looks like its getting worse. She also tried baking soda baths a few times and no improvement.
It does not seem to hurt her but why isn't it going away and what is it?

It is probably a fungal infection. My DD has on now, too and I had to take her to the doctor. He told me to use Lamisil CR (prescription costed a fortune).

Oh- apply 2x a day. He said regular diaper cream will do nothing for it. She can also apply 1% hydrocortisone cream 2x a day.

My DS gets those fungal rashes. We need prescription cream to get rid of it. Nyastin is what the dr gave us and it works. Wasn't expensive trough our insurance. $15 maybe. There was another cream they have us for a regular diaper rash that costed $40. I was livid.

Try Lotramin ( athletes foot cream) and hydrocortisone cream. All over the counter a few times a day. I never take dd to the dr anymore for rashes b/c that's what my dr said to use

When you see bumps my ped said it is a yeast infection. My DS just had it and we had Rx cream for him that we used at diaper changes. I think it's called Nyastin.
