1 year old - CIO question wwyd???

Hello. My 12 month old wakes up at 5-6 am most days, has a bottle and goes back to sleep until 7 or 8. There are some days (like today) when he doesn't go back to sleep and other days when he sleeps through to 7.

I feel like this is what a much younger baby would do. Does anyone else have a 1 year old that has a bottle at 5-6 am and then goes back to sleep?

I will only do CIO if it is earlier than 5 am. Would you do CIO at 5 am?? I need to sleep more than 4-5 hours myself so this needs to stop!!! Thanks!!

Yes, sometimes my DS (18 mts) will wake up around 6 and I give him a bottle and he will fall back asleep for another hour or two. I figure maybe he is just thirsty but not ready to start the day yet. I never did CIO though so I'm not sure what to do as far as that.

sometimes dd wakes earlier--she will talk to herself in the crib, and i leave her and she will usually fall back to sleep- but she is usually pretty much up for the day between 630-7

I have a 10 month old who was sleeping great until a few weeks ago. She used to get a bottle at that time (stopped around 6 months) and go back to sleep the same way.
What I did was get up with her at 5 for a week but not feed her until 6. Then I let her cry at 5 if she woke up. After 1 day she slept till 7:00. My theory was that she was just used to eating at that time so she woke up.

At that age my Dd would wake up around 5 and I would nurse her and she'd fall back to sleep until 7-8. That stopped after a few months and she just started sleeping through til that time. I wasn't ready to be up that early and it was just so easy to nurse her for a few minutes knowing I would get more sleep. I don't know of it was the "right" thing to do but it worked for us and didn't last forever.

My ds always woke up at 530.. It was just his time to rise.. After him sleeping 10 hrs, I was ok with that . Now that I am home with him for the summer, he sleeps till7 on his own, but goes to bed later at night.. I was successful with CIO when ds woke up in the middle of the night, but I dont think I would do it in the morning after a long sleep . Hth
