Thoughts on this name...
So I'm super early and don't know what I'm having but DH and I have always liked the name Evangeline...but now that I'm pregnant I'm having 2nd thoughts.
DD1 is Cecelia.
TIA
ETA we could call her Eva or Evie as a nickname...

I'm not a fan of when people make nicknames for the name they are already planning on giving their child. If you don't like the full name why not just call the kid by the nickname?

Maybe they do like the full name and just want to consider what nicknames will work, so they can make sure they like those too? Kids names usually get shortened by the masses, KWIM?

I feel this same way but my husband wants out kid to have aname that can sound " grown up" and also has a cute Nick name.
neither of us go by our legal name so I feel differently but it was a compromise.

I like the full name but need a name with nicknames. I couldn't pick a name w/o nickname options. DD1-Cecelia is sometimes called Cece.

I think it's a very pretty name. My cousin's daughter is Evangelina and his brother's daughter is Eva. They didn't shorten Evangelina to Eva but she's called Vange, Evange, etc, as cute family nicknames.
