Injectables Question
I know every woman has a different protocol, but what's the "norm" when starting an injectable iui cycle? What type of medications are typically prescribed, and how much of each? Before I go in for a cycle, I am pricing out the medication through my insurance, and want to have a ball park range of how much the meds are going to cost me.

Re: Injectables Question
There are a few out there. For me...I used follistim for one cycle and then Gonal F for the rest. Would depend on what your RE usually prescribes and what your ins will cover.

Re: Injectables Question
My insurance only covered gonal F not follstim. They are the same so whatever they cover you can take.

Re: Injectables Question
thank you both for responding- my issue is, is that I've recently met with an RE who ran a bunch of tests on dh and I, and determined that they recommend I go straight to injectables and move on to ivf if this cycle does not work. My insurance only covered diagnosis of infertility- but not treatment or drugs. I am trying to find information on the medications I may use so I can have some sort of idea how much this all will cost. My monthly cycle is already costing over 2k- I'm afraid to know how much everything else will cost .

I obviously don't know your diagnosis or situation, but only 1 IUI doesn't seem like a lot. Even though it's OOP, it's tremendously less expensive than IVF OOP. Just throwing it out there - it really depends on what issues you're dealing with.

Find out what meds and when you need it and I may be able to give you mine. I ordered enough for an IVF cycle. Wanted to make sure I def don't need them before i do anything. Im sure i wont and then they are yours
