Those that successfully did the 3 day potty training
Where were you at the end of day 1? DD won't pee in the toilet - she goes in her underwear and stops when we put her on the potty, but she is letting me know when she is going. She says "mommy pee" or "mickey potty" (we obviously have a mickey potty). Is that a "success" or are we doomed to fail? Thanks!

Re: Those that successfully did the 3 day potty training
at the end of day 1 I think DD went in the potty maybe once for a complete start to finish for pee. Basically we started day 1 with her peeing in her pants the entire time and then not saying something. Then she peed in her pants and we would hear uh oh. Then she would say I have to pee after she started and stop and then finish on the potty only after we bribed her to sit there for a few extra minutes with either the iphone, ipad stickers or books ect...
Keep at it. Stay consistent. Keep saying the phrase over and over and over again, every few seconds if you even have to. i think the phrase was make sure you tell mommy and daddy if you have to use the potty (something like that) I said it over a billion times per day!!! She will get it. Good Luck

Re: Those that successfully did the 3 day potty training
By the end of day 1 DS was running to the bathroom saying, "gotta go" and grabbing my hand. He even surprised us with a #2. We thought we had a rock star potty son. He's 27 months.
Day 2 was a little better, Day 3, regression. Accidents, #2 was not happening in the potty at all.
Fast forward to now, 2 weeks after. I went to pull ups. DS has #1 down great. A few false alarms here and there, but sometime I let him flush or run the water to get the juices flowing. He still won't do #2 on the potty. He's done it 3 times total and I got tired of cleaning his underpants. I call the pull ups underpants and still say the phrases, much less. Hopefully going #2 on the potty will click soon. I'd like to get rid of the pull ups.
Good luck!

Re: Those that successfully did the 3 day potty training
I am at week two and she is day,nap and night trained. I can go out and do my errands and she tells me if she needs to go, when I bring her she goes. She is 28 months old and I am amazed at how quickly she caught on.
She had accidents on day 1, day 2 was better and day 3 was only a poopy accident. She did have a few poopy accidents these last two weeks, but I think it might have only been 2.
Don't give up!

With both my kids I did no underwear for day 1. It was so much easier to not worry about dealing with them. Each day got easier.

Thanks everyone! Only one bad accident today, but otherwise we got to the potty in time. Lots of small leaks, but I guess that is expected since she is learning bladder control. We got a poop - she resisted going for a long time, but she did it and felt much better afterward. She isn't verbally telling me when she has to pee still (she tells me poop), but I see the signs and run her to the potty. It is a lot of work!
