DS is a swaddle junkie

He is almost 4 mo old and not rolling yet but I know I need to stop soon but I am terrified! He constantly has his hands in his face and wakes himself up without it. He sleeps 12+ hours straight with it!

I don't remember the transition with my twins so please ease my mind. Anyone's DC love the swaddle and have no issues transitioning.

My twins!

They LIVED for being swaddled and I did it probably way longer than I should have.

To transition, I started by leaving the legs free first, then the arms. They were FINE :)

My DS was hooked! It was strange for us because DD hated being swaddled! We kept joking that we were going to have to start swaddling him in a queen sized sheet since he was starting to outgrow the larger swaddles Chat Icon but it was the ONLY way he would fall asleep. I think we stopped around 6/7 months or so Chat Icon . He just started finding his way out of the swaddle, but was sleeping fine. Transition wasn't hard at all.

We swaddled DD until like 7/8 months. She told us when she didn't want it anymore. Transition was easy.

We swaddled DD til she was 7 months. We went on vacation and sleeping in the pack and play was going to be new to her anyway so I used it as an opportunity to transition. The first 2 nights I was up 3 or 4 times but she got it the 3rd night and was fine.

ETA: I dont think there is a time frame that you can swaddle for. DD always slept great so I was afraid to ruin a good thing. We only transitioned her bc she wasnt fitting in the swaddle me's anymore.

DD is 5 1/2 months and can't sleep for long periods without the swaddle. Sometimes she can fall asleep for a nap without it...but wakes herself up. At night we have been trying to leave 1 arm out to break her out of it...but it doesn't last very long.

She has a love/hate relationship with it. She sleeps better with it...but hates it and tries to break out. But once broken out won't stay asleep for long.

Hopefully she won't need it soon. I feel like a slave to that damn swaddle!
