Re: romantic vacations

I like two types of romantic vacations - quaint B&B types or swanky and luxurious. One of my favorite trips with DH was to a bed and breakfast in Newport, RI. We like to stay at little inns and bed and breakfasts. We once stayed at a plantation bed and breakfast in new Orleans and it was super cute. We did Bora Bora for our honeymoon and that was awesome.

The Maldives was my first pick for honeymoon but it was bad weather. The resorts look amazing. I also have Amalfi Coast on my romantic wish list.

I went with my girlfriends but I thought Dubai was surprisingly romantic. I thought the most romantic restaurant I have been to was one that had a view of Burj Al Arab in Dubai. My girlfriend and I were saying how beautiful the view was. I have wanted t go back with DH but then we had a baby.

I also thought Bali and Phuket were beautiful but I also traveled with a girlfriend. It would be crazy romantic.

Re: romantic vacations

Isla Mujeres was a very romantic island - the restaurants were fabulous and had romantic atmospheres. And every night we sat at a table in the sand and watched the sunset.

The resort we stayed at in Brazil, Nannai, was very romantic. But not as easy to get to as Isla!

There are so many different kinds - I love them all!

We were in the Catskills at a beautiful B&B at Christmas time during an ice storm Chat Icon

We were in Venice, Tuscany, Capri and Rome for our honeymoon....each was romantic in its own way (historic, island, quant, etc)

We've also done the islands...Aruba and Turks....spending days on the beach and in the water...Chat Icon

Virgin Gorda in BVI...quiet and beautiful...we rent a villa so we are alone!

We have also chartered a sailboat with a captain and chef and sailed the BVI...we spent hours on beaches with no one other than us!

Re: romantic vacations

The most romantic vacation I've ever been on had to be Disney all because of one day. The most romantic moment we've ever had (in my opinion, maybe not his lol) was at Walt Disney World on our wedding anniversary. It was pouring rain, I was so bummed. Thunder and everything for most of the day. We went to dinner and I dropped butter in my $12 drink and was crying about how our anniversary was ruined. Hubby said he wanted to go to Magic Kingdom after dinner and I obliged even though I was super cranky. Well, it's a good thing we went! The park was basically empty. It was literally he and I standing alone in front of the Partners Statue watching Wishes in the rain holding hands.
The photopass photographers all took our photos without us realizing it because they thought it was amazing too. We even signed off on letting Disney use the images for promotional materials, although I don't think they ever did. I got goosebumps just thinking about that night. You would have thought we rented out the whole park! Turned out to be one of the best nights of my life.
(There were a handful of other people on Main Street but they were hiding under the awnings and in the shop doors hiding from the rain.)
