feeding and sleeping schedule for 2 month old

DD will be 2 months next week. I am lucky that she has been sleeping for 8-10 hours at night. She has been eating 5 oz bottles pretty much every 3 hours, expect at night every 2 hours. it comes out to about 30 oz a day. she's been going down for bed between 8 and 9pm.

now the problem is that she's been going a bit longer between bottles during the day. as it gets closer to 4 hours between bottles how do i make that transition to less bottles but more oz per bottle, with keeping a bedtime of about 8pm?

i feel like im overthinking this. any advice?

I just went with what ds wanted. I never thought about it. If he went 4 hrs then he just did. If one bottle he wanted more I just have him more.

The less you think about it the easier it is.

I always followed LOs cues. Still do at 17mos.
I would do the every 4, if that's what LO wants. Keep it at 5oz, if they want more, they'll let you know!

DD will be 2 months on Saturday. TBH, she has a loose schedule but she put herself on it. At this point, I couldn't force something on her because she is still in the stage where she just needs her basic needs met- eating, pooping/peeing and sleeping. She also seems to change every week or so, I'm just along for the ride!

i totally hear what you guys are saying. thats what ive been doing from day one, letting her call the shots. i guess my concern now is a selfish one because if she goes every 4 hours her last bottle is now getting later, and i want to keep her bedtime the same. and im afraid if i just put her to bed at that same time without that last bottle she will start waking up in the middle of the night and i dont want to regress.

8-10 hours of consecutive sleep at 2 months old? I'd be counting my lucky stars!!!

Your baby will drop a bottle if and when she's ready for it. Don't let her go longer than 4 hours during the day between feedings. I personally don't think there's anything to change. DS is 5 months old and STTN but have never given me 10 hours of sleep. EVER.

I know what you mean here and this is what we did - DD would get up from her last nap around 5-6pm. I would nurse her and then she would have awake time till 8pm - at this point I would nurse her again and put her to bed for the night. So she would eat twice kwim? That way she had a full tummy before bed! My friend told me to do this cause I was confused too. So maybe do a 4oz bottle at 6 and them 5oz at 8? Or vice versa...u may have to play with the oz and see how hungry she is! And remember it is all cumulative!

Also we started doing this at like 3-4 months bc prior to that she was crazy in the evenings!

If LO is consistently finishing bottles I'd start to add more to each bottle. Also it may depend on the bottle and your baby but we also switched to a medium flow nipple and DD started to take in more.

I wouldn't worry too much about the sleep schedule. DD was a pretty good sleeper early on too and never deviated from it much. Yes, sometimes she was probably having a growth spurt and woke up at night for a feeding. But she always stayed on a pretty consistent schedule and I always fed on demand.

Eventually, LOs bedtime will probably be earlier. Right now (and for awhile) DD would take 5 bottles a day spread out every 3 hours. Each day is different but bedtime is usually around 7:30-8:30.

The best way to promote sleep I found... was sleep. The better DD napped during the day, the better night time was. It was easier to get her to fall asleep and she'd most likely stay asleep.
