Do all babies eventually like tummy time?
My dd hates it from day one. But I put her on her belly everyday, even if it's only for the two minutes before she freaks out. I get down with her and try to entertain her but she does not enjoy it. Will this change? Will she eventually like it? Her neck muscles seem strong to me and she can hold her head pretty well. I'm worried about her getting a flat head too by not getting enough tummy time.

one of my girls grew to like it. The other never did. She is almost 10 months and still can't stand it. She also can't crawl yet :(

Re: Do all babies eventually like tummy time?
Once DD was able to roll over and "control" tummy time she liked it But it was a struggle. Sometimes I played baby Einstein while she was on her tummy to get her used to it.

Do all babies eventually like tummy time?
DS used to cry or fall asleep every time I put him down for tummy time. Then he learned to flip from back to belly and would put himself on his tummy and scream. Eventually when he learned to flip himself from belly to back he stopped crying and now prefers to be on his belly. Every baby is different - just keep trying it!

Re: Do all babies eventually like tummy time?
oooh dd HATED it... for months and months and months and months lol... she would last about 15 seconds before freaking out. she is 8 months now and within the last month decided she wants to sleep on her tummy and be on her tummy on the changing table, while i'm trying to change her diaper i'm like "hey, remember when you couldn't stand being on your belly?!" I wouldn't worry about it

Re: Do all babies eventually like tummy time?
Mine went through phases of not liking it. I made them do it anyway to get stronger. If they cried I rolled them over...annnnd they would roll themselves right back on their bellies

DD hated it too. I would do 1-2 minutes a day lol. It made her scream and cry so I always dreaded it! But little by little she got better and would do longer and longer sessions. Now she rolls alot and sleeps on her belly on and off so she is ok with it! It took awhile but we got there!

DD hates it, she's 7mo. Now that she can roll to her back, it's practically impossible to get any tummy time in.

DS hates it. 8 months and no desire to be on his tummy or crawl.
Sleeps on his tummy though, lol.

DD is 14 months, doesn't crawl, and still hates it. The only time she doesn't mind is if Elmo's on, in that case she wouldn't mind if she was standing on her head while watching!

Re: Do all babies eventually like tummy time?
DS #1 never liked tummy time - DS #2 liked to sleep on his tummy so I didn't really force the issue at all.

Do all babies eventually like tummy time?
Dd hated it so much but now that she can easily roll back and forth she puts herself on her tummy all the time. I think she's trying to crawl. Also now she sleeps on her tummy which she never used to do. She's 9 months

My son hated it until he could roll over. Once he could he preferred to be on his belly. DD is still hating it but she is only 7 weeks old :)

Re: Do all babies eventually like tummy time?
You're doing fine, even a few minutes a day can help. Also, my ped said that tummy time is only important until they can sit up on their own, because then they will strengthen their core that way, and you won't have to worry as much about flat head.
