Do you take your kids to bridal showers?
I'm co-hosting my friend's bridal shower at the end of the month. I personally want to make it an event for ages 10+. Not sure if I will offend some of the moms if I do this. The shower is on a sunday late afternoon. I believe most dads should be able to watch the kids at this time.

I follow the basic rule that if my kid is not on the invite, they are not invited!
Honestly though, 10 is a weird cut-off since that's still "child age" and seems sorta arbitrary. I would do all kids or no kids

Do you take your kids to bridal showers?
A majority of the time all of my family and friends bring the kids to the showers. If not the older toddlers and such but the babies all come. Saying no kids runs the risk of not all adults being able to come.

My friend has 2 future niece twins who are 10 years old. They would definitely want and expect to come.

As of now, we have just not mentioned kids. The invitations went to the female adults.

Obviously, as the host, you're free to do what you like in terms of an invite BUT personally, I think it's easier to make it all or nothing to avoid offending anyone. I just think it's the smarter thing to do.

We never mention kids on the invites. We just always address it to the female invited. Everyone I know always calls before they bring kids other than babies to make sure it's ok.

If my kid wasn't on the invite, there would be no question. I also wouldn't get offended if say my child were not invited but a closer child to the bride was (niece, cousin, etc, when my child might just be a close friend).

I personally wouldn't even if she was in the invite. Kids can be PITAs at these things and I don't want to deal with it. She can stay home

I agree and IMO bridal showers are no place for children. Anyway, you said the dads could watch them...

Re: Do you take your kids to bridal showers?
Are the kids invited to the wedding? I would pretty much go by that. I also have no problem with infants attending either way, they pretty much just sit there and if they fuss the mommy can ( or should) step out with them.

Re: Do you take your kids to bridal showers?
Depends on where it is hosted.
If you can, it's nice to invite kids.
I've stopped going to long events that don't have kids invited (like bridal showers), because my time with my kids is too valuable.

No - I would not. They would be bored out of their minds and drive me and everyone else crazy. I get bored out of my minds during those types of things - it's not fair to them!
I brought DS 2 to a baby shower once but, it was family and other people were bringing young kids and I had nobody to watch him (he was maybe 6 months old at the time too).

Re: Do you take your kids to bridal showers?
I would rather not bring my kids, they are 3 yr old twins, but the 2 showers I have been to since they were born I brought them, the first I wasn't planning on but was told verbally that they wanted them to be there, it was a very close friend, the other I had no choice they are the flower girls

ITA! Personally I wouldn't want to bring my kids. Even though I'm not a fan of Showers it's still nice to just sit with a drink, eat in peace and catch up with friends and family.
