end of 1st tri red spotting
i'm a couple weeks shy of the end of my 1st tri - i've had spotting on and off since pretty much 6 weeks. it's always been more of a brown discharge when wiping or occasionally on a pantiliner. doctor was aware - said it's common, etc. everything looked fine on sono.
on saturday i started having bright red spotting and it continued on sunday. this morning during FMU there was slightly more red blood - sorry if this is TMI. i would maybe say it was like the very first sign of getting AF - not heavy at all but there was enough that the toilet water was tinged a little red, and more on the toilet paper when i wiped. again, bright red.
i had a sono on friday (before red spotting started) and everything looked as it should. i plan to call my doctor but i'm looking for some feedback from anyone who has experienced this around 11-12 weeks and what the reason was. although i don't feel totally freaked out and crazed, i can't help but worry a tiny bit!
eta: have had no cramping whatsoever

Re: end of 1st tri red spotting
Have you been told you have fibroids before? this is my third and went to the ER around that time bc of bleeding but they think it was from either having placenta previa or bc i have a few fibroids. Im 18 weeks and still doing well, so id call ur doc and have them check u out! Try to relax, as hard as it is, and let us know how it goes!

Could be a sub chorionic hematoma. I had one with my daughter, bled bright red from about 7 weeks until about 12 weeks. Very scary, but everything was fine. Make sure you get in to see your doc for a sono to put your mind at ease. Good luck!

I had for one day around that time period. It was very scary. Dr. said as long as there was no cramping don't worry. I just laid down the entire evening and kept my feet up.

end of 1st tri red spotting
I had bleeding at 14 weeks. It was due to placenta previa. You wouldnt know if you have it yet (they usually check at 20 week sono) I'd call the doc this morning and go in for a quick sono to check

Call the doc asap if you haven't and try to get in for a sono. It could be one of many things- every case is different. I had a miscarriage a year ago and had brown spotting since the beginning- I was told it was "old blood" until I actually had a sono around 8 weeks when the baby was only measuring 6 weeks, and another at 9 weeks when the baby had not grown. It wasn't until about a week and a half later that it turned red and I miscarried. That was my case but thats not everyone. Usually brown spotting shouldn't be a cause for concern but you really never know because every situation is different. You won't have peace of mind until you talk to your doc.
