Spinoff: washing machines (VS dryers) - STEAM

I noticed that there are steam options in BOTH the washing machine and dryers.

Which makes the most sense? I was just at HD and there are models that have steam in washing machine, it's mate without.

Then, dryer with steam and it's mate without...

which machine do you think would use the steam option better? washer or dryer?

TIA!

Both our washer and dryer have steam settings. I use them for different things. I use the dryer steam setting if something has wrinkles and I don't feel like ironing it Chat Icon and I use the washer steam setting for very delicate things in between dry cleaning.

i rarely use steam on my dryer i really think the only reason at least on my machine is just for to make the cloths wrinkle free.

I use my steam on my washing machine more often usually when any of the options i am choosing allows me to do so. Though if i will skip it if i dont want to wait the extra 25-30 mins for the wash to be done.

Why do you use it on your washing machine? Does it clean better? safer? i don't get the reason to use it...

Sorry, i am clueless about these new-fangled options!

I don't use the steam setting on the washer, but I use it on the dryer all the time to de-wrinkle clothes (and table cloths) and even just freshen things up a bit if a full wash isn't needed.
