Moms w/ "he" washing machines

We just got a new front loading "he" washer. I was reading the manual and it said to only use he detergent. DC #2 is on the way and I wanted to wash w/ Dreft but I am not sure if I can use it in this machine. What did you do?

I have HE and still use Dreft. It worked fine.

I kind of think the whole HE detergent thing is a scam.

I believe the HE detergent is less sudsy which is why they want you to use it. I use All Free & Clear HE for DD and Wisk HE for our clothes.

I use All Free & Clear HE.

The non HE detergents contain a lot more of the sudsing agents and will leave a build up in your machine. If you are going to use them anyway you should be using a lot less than in a top loader.
