OPK and No positive!

Hi Ladies,

So this is month number 2 of trying and I was eager to see if i am ovulating on my own. So i had bought the OPK and started day 5- i am not at day 15 and i have not ovulated yet. I have the kit that tells you yes or no and stops working after a yes. I have only been testing in the morning when i first wake up. Should i be testing in the pm too?

What does this mean? I am not going to O? Should i buy a second kit, (only 20 test strips in this one). Hubby and i have been Chat Icon but i am just a bit confused.

thanks for all the help ladies!!

How long is your cycle typically? Are you recently off BCPs?

Re: OPK and No positive!

I had been irregular with the stress of wedding planning and my father passing away it really messed up my cycle. The past 2 months I have been 28 days.

I havent taken BCP's in years bc I was scared of the side effects- we used precaution just not them.

I would keep testing and test in the afternoon. I have 28-29 day cycles and this month I got a + opk on day 17. Stress can def. Effect ovulation.

Re: OPK and No positive!

I would keepo testing and yes, test in the afternoon too. I use Cheap Internet OPKS and when they start to look like they could be almost positive, I start using the smiley faces (they are expensive to use a few times a day)

A few times I surged at night and by the next morning, it's negative again.

Hopefully you'll get your BFP this cycle and it won't matter... but if not, order the cheap ones and use them too.

Re: OPK and No positive!

keep testing, and yes, maybe do morning AND afternoons. I've heard you can miss your surge if you only test once a day. That said - I do tend to only test with FMU. Back when I was TTC #1 a few years ago I found that some months I'd O on CD14 while others it wasn't until CD16 (with a 28 day cycle). This time around, I got my positive O on CD13. So it can really be anywhere I guess. Just keep testing. I'd assume that either it's still on its way, or you missed the surge. But if you were DTD either way, hopefully that won't matter Chat Icon
