BBB vs. BRU?

BBB I think is so much nicer then BRU but I feel they have the same things. Plus I was finding BRU was cheaper on the same item.

What do you prefer? I heard a few moms complain about BRU's return policy. Is it necessary to register at both?

Re: BBB vs. BRU?

I struggled with this one too. IMO BBB is nicer than BRU and the prices are actually pretty comparable. Also, you can use Bed Bath and Beyond coupons at BBB.

The only real downfall with BBB is that they don't have as many locations as BRU.

I ended up registering at BBB because I used their service where they have an associate walk around with you to pick out items. I figure that people can always order online if there isn't a BBB near them.

I am contemplating as well. I am considering registering at both! LOL I like BBB better but, there are not as many locations and none nearby me. The stroller I want is at BBB, but I am not putting it on the registry. So, I'll probably register at BRU.

From a BTDT, we only registered at BBB since returning STINKS at BRU. I prefered to get most of my gifts from BBB so I could return things without an issue. But once the gifts stop, I do a lot of buying at BRU since some of their prices are better, they print you 20% off coupons every time you shop and they have a rewards program, too.

BBB vs. BRU?

I prefer BBB. The customer service is awesome and I haven't had to search for help they are right there. BRU on the other hand is not as friendly and there return policy sucks. If you are using coupons(you can combine and they take Bed Bath and Beyond coupons too) it is close in pricing.

I had the same issue. I much preferred BBB but there's only one in the city so I registered for both. It is true that BBB's prices can be a bit higher but you can almost always find a 20% coupon from them or Bed, Bath & Beyond. Honestly, 90% of people used the BRU registry. As for their return policy, the trick I used which worked like a charm was to put any item I wanted to return on my registry before heading into the store. Their policy is to take back anything that is listed on your registry.

Re: BBB vs. BRU?

I would've chosen BBB but my mother made a big stink that my grandmother wouldn't go ALL THE WAY there (she's in Massapequa) Chat Icon Chat Icon and that it's so much easier for people to go to BRU.

She was paying for the shower and bought DD1's furniture- so I listened.

I didn't have that much to return and didn't have any problems returning anything.

I had a problem last year with DD's convertible seat I bought. She literally got STUCK in it- I had to squeeze her arms out as she screamed and then pull her legs up and out through the straps. I got the runaround to 3 different BRUs to get the problem fixed.

BBB is so much better than BRU. The customer service at BRU sucks. But I had to register with BRU because it was more convenient for everyone to purchase their gifts.

We registered at BBB over BRU. I heard too many nightmare stories of BRU and their return policy S*CKS!!! Also, their customer service is TERRIBLE!!! BBB hands down was a WAY better experience. Also, BRU prices online are cheaper then the ones in the store which can just cause a headache sometimes.

We ended up doing BBB and Target. BBB is hard for some people since their aren't many locations PLUS we had some OOT guests and thought Target would be easier for them. I compared the big ticket items and actually some where cheaper or only found at Target so it worked out great!

Everyone says it's terrible, but I've had no issues. I am in eastern suffolk and there's no way anyone would have gone that far.

For those who registered at Both, did you register for the exact things or did you do half on one and half on the other?

I am thinking of registering for the similar items and returning duplicates. But, I am wondering if it is worth the trouble registering at both.

I registered at both. I never understood people having registries at different stores with the same items on them. There are some things at BRU that are cheaper then BBB (Not by much, only $5 or so) and some of the same items come in different designs at each store. I split my registry but still have a few more items on BBB then on BRU. I also registered at Amazon.com.

BBB vs. BRU?

I registered at both but preferred BBB in terms of ease of adding things online and actually being able to see them! I found BRU to have less things available to actually be viewed which was annoying.
I never registered for the same item at both stores and don't get the point of that at all. I registered for particular items at the store where they were found to be cheaper.

ITA. And their employees are very knowledgeable on their products. Most of the employees at my BRU location (Westbury) have no desire to help at all!

I think many people have had a problem when they tried to return items without a receipt that were not on their registry. As I said above, you can fix that problem by simply adding any item that wasn't on your registry before, to your registry before trying to return it. I wrote a post a few weeks ago about my nightmare experience using their completion discount and how you really have to be careful to check their online prices before you buy anything in the store. They will price match their on-line prices. However, they don't tell you that. Therefore, before you buy anything inside the store, check online and make sure they give you the price it's selling for online. I had one item that was $100 less online!

With BBB, it's my understanding that as long as they sell it, receipt or no receipt, they will take it back.

BBB vs. BRU?

I was just at the BBB in the city and I didnt think the selection of certain items as AS good as BRU. Such as clothes. It could have just been that specific location though. You would think the NYC one would be the best! I had a great experience registering there though. The staff is super helpful and some things they had great selections on. I just wish they had more locations.

SO Question...you are saying if someone buys you something at BRU that was not on your registry and you need to return it, simply add it to you registry before you return it.

Its ok that it won't show on your registry that it has been purchased?

You can update your registry to show that it has been purchased.

I registered at both to make it easier on guests. I put some things on one and others on the other. More people seemed to shop at BRU than BBB (surprising but, I think it was just location).

I had no issues returning to BRU - and I returned a decent amount of things I thought I would need and then decided I wouldn't, along with duplicates - since I got two of almost everything there...
