Those doing VBAC
What doctor are you using? My OB said that he is not against VBAC, but that his malpractice company won't allow it. He said that if I want to try for VBAC, that I have to change doctors. He said he will give me a referral, without a problem, but that he just is not allowed to do them anymore. He said that they don't scare him...that he did plenty of them in his training, and in his career. And that if something goes wrong, all you have to do is act quickly. But says that he's not allowed anymore.

Those doing VBAC
I know Dr Bashian(my OB) supports them. If you schedule a consult with her you just need to bring your csection report for her to review. My scar tissue is bad(she didn't do my previous sections), clotting factors, and so on (basically high risk) so I don't qualify.

Re: Those doing VBAC
No advice because I'm upstate but good luck! I'm preparing for a vbac next month (and found that offices that include midwives are a lot more vbac friendly). GL!

Re: Those doing VBAC
That's crazy! I'm assuming malpractice insurance is hard to come by because if I were a doctor, I'd probably find new insurance so I could do a procedure I believed in.
Anyway, I see Dr. Piliterri and had a VBAC with DD2

Where are you looking to deliver?
The Stony Brook Midwives definitely do VBAC's.

That's who I used. Melanie Sumersille is a CNM in Garden City if you're a Nassau mom. If you'd prefer an OB Dr Seth Plancher is in the same practice.

Not sure if they're affiliated, but my ob is referring me to Stonybrook OB/GYN for a consult with the perinatologist to see if I'm a candidate.
ETA: I want one for 2 reasons: 1) as a woman, I want to experience labor and childbirth (crazy, I know); and 2) I have a 4 year old DD with special needs, and I don't know how I will care for her with the downtime a c-section requires.

I've never seen anyone there but they are highly recommended on here and IRL. I hope your consult goes well!!
