Mattress pad/cover, mattress an sheets also for BTDT moms
Please recommend the above.
I'm a little confused about the mattress pad. The covers come with a quilted top. That sounds great and all but would that be too soft for a newborn? (Baby will sleep in his rock n play at night but will nap in the crib from day 1).

Make sure you get a waterproof matress pad/cover.
The quilted ones are not to soft for the baby. They do not sink into it.

This--and get 2, so this way if they wet one of them you have a backup if you can't do laundry immediately!

yes definitely get 2. And definitely have at least a few crib sheets. I like the BRU brand mattress covers. And I prefer crib sheets that have elastic all the way around like a shower cap.
