Positive OPK's
I've been using OPK's for three months now and have never gotten a positive reading. Has this ever happened to any of you? If so, how did things turn out for you??

Re: Positive OPK's
what kinds of OPK's are you using? WHen are you using them (which days are you testing and what time of day)? Also, how much water do you drink in a day?
I have some friends who never got positives on an OPK because they were literally drinking a ton of water and it was washing out the test. Also some were just testing on the wrong days or time of day. So it doens't necessarily mean something is wrong per se, but if you are worried then you should probably speak to a dr or a specialist about it (i'm more of a specialist kind of girl).
Good Luck.

Re: Positive OPK's
I've been testing on a wide range of days - starting with CD 6 and going as far as CD 17 (I only have 26 day cycles). I've tested twice a day (once at 5AM when I wake up and then later in the day when I get home from work, usually around 8PM). I've used different kinds of tests, from cheap sticks to the CBE digital.
BUT...I do drink a decent amount of water. I've been drinking a lot less during the day since I have to hold my urine for 4 hours before testing in the afternoon, so that's definitely cut it back. I've noticed some darker tests than I've had in the past. And actually this morning just got what I think is my first positive...but I'm not sure and that's a whole other story!

Use a digital OPK. There's no guessing involved with that.

Re: Positive OPK's
I agree- go with the CBE smiley OPK. It's very easy to use and has a very sensitive detection rate. I think you can get the whole kit plus 20 sticks for 40$. If you are def not seeing a surge, I would also go to a RE to have some basic testing done. Some women do not ovulate. Their hormones could be off and preventing a surge. A RE can figure this out and prescribe meds to help you O. Good luck!
