my son has 101.8
So it is the third day with my students and Sammy's first day of PRe - K and he is sick. I hate to take off already but we have no one to watch Sammy. I am hoping that it is a 24 hour virus and he wakes up in the morning perfectly normal but I dont see that happening.
He threw up in the morning and he says his throat hurts could it be the dreaded coxsacie?

I haven't heard of throwing up with cox sackie. I hope it's the 24 hour thing.
Good luck!

If this helps you feel better - strep throat is a quick antibiotic. Cox sackie is 5-7 days of feeling helpless & nothing the doctor can do for you or him.

Re: my son has 101.8
I remember reading about coxsackie and hearing that throwing up was one of the side effects.
Emily actually threw up for the first time when she had it -- but it was a result of all of the mucus she had since it really congested her bad.
However I think his fever would have been more then 101.8 -- did it go any higher then that?
I know you wouldn't want him to but I'd keep him home tomorrow and see what you can do about someone to watch him or even stay home yourself.

Re: my son has 101.8
My four children had coxsackie a couple of weeks ago. Only one of them threw up. My daughter had a sore throat, but my sons didn't. Check the inside of his cheeks and see if you see any spots (and also blisters on the bottoms of his feet).
I felt so sorry for my kids - their mouths hurt so bad they hardly ate for days.
Good luck!
