Buying a "used" breast pump
My friend has a relative that is willing to sell me her breast pumps (1 travel and 1 regular) for $100.
What attachments would I need to purchase to go along with the pump?
Do I NEED 2 pumps?

I don't personally feel like you will need 2 pumps but I guess that might depend on how much you will need it/plan to use it. Also, you might want to check with your insurance. I know that a lot of ins. companies are now covering portions (if not all) of the cost of a pump.

Re: Buying a "used" breast pump
you dont NEED to pumps, but if you can get them free/cheap it cant hurt. for example, i have my main pump at home (that was free and covered by insurance) i keep it set up so i can pump when needed, but since i am back at work i also need to pump there so i have a second pump (that my friend gave me for free) that i keep at work. its just a matter of convenience - but it is not necessary at all. i was taking my pump back and forth to work with no problems for the first 3 weeks, then my friend happened to mention she was done with hers so i took it.
def check with insurance before spending any money

Re: Buying a "used" breast pump
I had 1 last time and this time I am definitely getting 2- I want one to keep at home and one to keep at work
If I was a SAHM or worked from home, 1 would be plenty

Re: Buying a "used" breast pump
read this first in case you dont know about open/closed systems http://www.breastpumpsdirect.com/open_system_breastpumps_vs_closed_system_breastpumps_a/147.htm
if you plan on ebf, you only need the pump for work, random times when you're home, so you probably wont need a second. i have two but exclusively pumped. i actually EPed with one pump for a long time and it was fine.
