New Here with questions
Hello ladies!! I am sure this had been asked plenty of times before and I apologize in advance but DH and I are thinking about TTC so what is the absolute first thing I should do? Should I make a gyno appointment to s/w my doctor about it? Right now I smoke and I know I have to give that up of course but besides that what was the very first thing you ladies did? TIA!! I feel very excited and VERY nervous but its as good a time as any

Re: New Here with questions
Welcome!!!! First things I did was make an appt with my primary care dr and then with my gyno - I just switched gynos and took a look into where this new gyno would deliver at. After that I started taking prenatal vitamins.
Good luck!!!

Thank you so much for the advice!! I will make an appointment with my primary doctor asap and I am due for a gyno checkup as well so that works out!! I have been taking prenatals for a while now but I was using them for my hair lol... I use the CVS kind but what do you recommend?

Re: New Here with questions
I am taking the Rainbow Light one-a-day prental vitamins and LOVE them. I ordered them off Amazon -- 150 pills per bottle.
Pros - only have to take one pill a day - completely food based ingredients - does not make my stomach upset at all (and I have taken them BEFORE eating breakfast in the AM)
Cons - the pill is a bit large
I also ordered the Rainbow Light DHA supplements which are supposed to be great for early cognitive development -- these were a bit more expensive and only have 60 pills per bottle but I thought it was worth it given all the great reviews. Unlike other DHA pills I have taken, these are not fishy at ALL and have orange oil in them -- they taste citrusy :)
Hope that helps!

New Here with questions
I'm also using the CVS brand- right now they're buy 1 get 1.. so you get can get 600 pills for only a few bucks.. I also switched my gyn when we decided we want to ttc bc my old doctor has a HUGE practice and you never knew who'd be on call to deliver your baby.. I also didn't want to delivery at the hospital they're affiliated with.

I LOVE Rainbow Light prenatals!! All natural and does not upset my stomach. The huge pill got wedged in my throat too many times so I went for the Rainbow Light petites which are three small pills that equal the same nutrition as the one big. It's just easier for me.
I agree with seeing a primary dr and OB/GYN to get regular bloodwork to test thyroid levels, and hormone levels. Best wishes for you!

Really? I just ordered the rainbow ones off amazon so I will just finish off my bottle and then start those.... I am not even sure if my gyno delivers thats how new I am to this. I haven't thought about it too much till today and now I am googling like crazy and can't concentrate on the actual work I have to do lol

Re: New Here with questions
Yea, my gyn wasn't an ob, but he had like 8 other doctors in his practice that did- but I wanted to know and be comfortable when it's time to deliver- not be with a dr I met once. I also would prefer to deliver at St. Catherines, so I had to do my research. Find a doctor that took my insurance, delivered out of St. Catherines and delivered for their own patients. All things I wouldn't have thought of if my best friend wasn't already pregnant and complaining about having to see several different doctors.
