japanese straightening salons?

I have been going to Hayato in NYC for about 10 years now. Chat Icon

But at $375 and it continues to go up... that's getting a bit pricey for me. Chat Icon Not to mention i have to take the hampton jitney in which is another $60 dollars. Then tip. Looking at about $500 total.

Can anyone recommend their salon? how long have you been going there? who would you recommend?

Hair Village in Woodside Queens. See Mimi Chat Icon

You can find reviews on Yelp.

Have gotten my hair straightened there a couple of times and it came out great. Plus is was way cheaper. I have thick medium length hair and it cost me I believe $180 with tip!

Just fyi....this is not your typical "salon" experience. I would say it is more "factory-like". If you do go here I would recommend the one that is on the corner of the intersection of Roosevelt Ave.

i had a bad experience at new mode a few years ago, left me with a bald spot. I will never ever go there again. It took years for it to finally grow back

Re: japanese straightening salons?

Hayato is more expensive but keep I believe the $320 charge with an associate comes with a haircut and 10-15 mins. massage?

I haven't gone in years but have tried other places before and was not happy...

Hayato are also pros at doing the liscio straight treatment which is better than other imitation methods which leaves your hair stick straight, not naturally straight.

Yes, but not to Woodside. You could probably cab it though.

I did it at a salon on the UES that was about $250
